Böhn Hase and an art market
23 September, 2009 in Books with no comments
Last Sunday Tobias, Carin, Kristoffer and I went to Park Art which is an art market in Amsterdam. Artist showed their work, a couple of DJs played, people ate food and we had a couple of beers. I bought this catalogue by the Dutch designer Gijs Kast Huijgen.
It’s a project which started as a portrait of his old neighborhood but in the end became an illustrated telephone book. He found out that all his neighbors had their own business and he decided to illustrate them.
Except the very nice wrapping I just had to buy it because of the concept, the fact that all of the illustrations/people in the catalogue are real and that you actually can find their phone numbers in it.

This is Bertina and Annie who’re both doing handicrafts.

Under the headline “Girls, girls, girls” you’ll find Emanuelle who’s got her own escort service and offers erotic massages and more (…).

If you want to buy one as well, go to Gijs shop.

… and I did. Thanks!

3 August, 2009 in Books with 2 commentsI have written about Paul Arden in a previous post and “It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be” is still one of my favorite books. I can read it over and over again and it makes me extremely motivated every time.
Sharing is caring (right?) – my favorite pages:

Quite good, good, very good, the best in your field or best in the world?
